Americans have been rushing to grocery stores to stockpile food ever since coronavirus has landed in the United States.
This photo shows empty supermarket shelves presumably right after one of those hoardings. The shelves are empty except for a few boxes of Twinkles Cereal, Hershey’s Cookies & Cream Fillows Cereal and Drumstick Classic Vanilla Breakfast Cereal. The photo has a caption on top that reads: Winner of the worse tasting cereal contest.
It makes sense that the sugary cereals were left out, because the bottom shelves in the cereal aisle target children who love them. However, we do wonder why these three specific cereals remained on the otherwise empty shelves. We guess we’ll never find out.
The top five cereals according to HuffPost are Waffle Crisp, Corn Flakes, Grape-Nuts, Frankenberry and Corn Pops in that order. Trivia Genius had a similar list of bestselling or most popular breakfast cereals of all time. They are Honey Nut Cheerios, Honey Bunches of Oats, Frosted Flakes, Cinnamon Toast Crush and Cheerios.
In somewhat related news, the largest cereal box to date is 10 feet wide and 14 feet tall. According to Guiness World Records, Daher International Food Company and its employers created this box in Lebanon in 2016.
